This week’s ONErpm Hitmaker is EVNTYD with “In Motion.”
EVNTYD is the musical project of Julián Berdegué. The highly talented musician has been slowly gaining momentum since the release of his first single in October of 2021. During the pandemic, Berdegué sought to create a body of work that was uniquely his own. Without relying on others, he was able to create the music he had been dreaming about for years.
“In Motion” is the newest track from EVNTYD. It’s about odd-defying unconditional love- a deep dive into his grappling for self love. Sonically, it’s nostalgic- fully reminiscent of warm summer days and the feeling of young young. With sincere and self-aware lyrics, EVNTYD has been able to blend hopeful optimism with gritty guitar riffs.
The chorus is intricate, “I owe it all to you, you’re too good to be true/ Every wish I ever had that never came true added up to you.” It’s vulnerable and authentically himself. Reigning from Austin, Texas, EVENTYD has been able to make a name for themselves in surf culture.
