The California-based bluesy rock band The Record Company stopped by the studio to play us a few songs from their February debut “Give it Back to You.”. Their song “Off the Ground” has been taking the alternative charts by storm (number 2, at time of publishing). Influenced by musicians ranging from John Lee Hooker to the Rolling Stones, their sound combines slide guitar with a grunge-y, authentic rock sound, so it’s no surprise that they’ve opened for acts like B.B. King, Grace Potter, Trombone Shorty and Buddy Guy.
They played “Rita Mae Young,”Hard Day Coming Down “” and their hit “Off the Ground” the day after rocking our Nashville Sunday Night live broadcast. Listen to the full audio of their in-studio performance and interview here!
