It’s a new era for The 1975, and we are absolutely loving it. That’s why Stephanie’s DJ Pick of the Week is their new song “Part of the Band.” The track is a departure for the alt/rock band, featuring an orchestra behind Matty Healy and George Daniel’s lyrics. The song is the first single from their upcoming album Being Funny in a Foreign Language. The track is upbeat while still keeping The 1975’s token charm and charisma.
It’s a departure, yes, but after two years that’s really the only way to usher in a new sound.
The band announced the album on Instagram with the caption “Your new album. Your new era. Your old friends.”
