This week Lightning 100 presents Dan’s DJ Pick of the week, “Alcohol” by alternative indie rock band, X Ambassadors. The band consists of Sam Harris, Casey Harris, and Adam Levin who are close friends that met while living Upstate New York. X Ambassadors formed in 2009 and gained critical reception with notable tracks like “Unsteady” and “Jungle.” This earned them nominations for Top Rock Song and Top Rock Artist by the Billboard Music Awards.
X Ambassadors collaborates with American singer-songwriter BRELAND to release their new pop single, “Alcohol.” This song is about someone’s desire to drown their sorrows instead of facing the music. The lyric, “Tequila and lime, whiskey on ice and every one of my problems is solved,” expresses how one can leave all their problems at home all while at a bar. The powerful vocals in the chorus express the desperate feeling to get relief from life’s stressors. This new track is the perfect opportunity to showcase the talents of each band member.
