Jayson’s DJ Pick of the Week is “Coming Home” by The Cold Stares!
The Indiana native trio The Cold Stare’s new song “Coming Home” packs a Country/Rock punch. The track possesses standard Americana characteristics along with classic rock influences. The guitar picking is fun and catchy-the kind of rhythm that makes you want to get in an old truck and drive. Paired with the singer’s raspy vocals, the song’s themes of family and tradition bring listeners back to their own homegrown roots. Their powerful sound adds to the raw emotion coming from the personal experiences that inspire their music.
The members consist of the group’s original two, Chris Tapp and Brian Mullins, as well as newcomer Bryce Kleuh. Tapp and Mullins originally formed a band together in their twenties, and after some time apart reconnected in Evansville, Indiana where they released their first four albums. Then in 2022, Kleuh came into the group and one year later they released their album “Voices”. Their newest album, “The Southern”, which features “Coming Home” was released on September 6th, 2024.
