Lightning 100 is excited to announce Shanny and the East Men and their song, “Not A Blue Moon,” as our Local Artist of the Week!
Based out of East Nashville, Shanny and the East Men have quickly risen to become known throughout Nashville and beyond. Playing heavily in Music City’s rock and club scenes, the quartet continues to push the boundaries of what indie music can sound like. Formed in 2023 by Shannon Eastman and Travis Kelso, they were quickly joined by music city veterans Ryan Gelder and Cody Boss. Together, the four formed Shanny and the East Men, and the rest is history.
“Not A Blue Moon” is the title track of their first full-length album. It was released late last year and began hinting at a new era for the band. With out-of-this-world vocals and rock instrumentals, this song incorporates a strong indie sound throughout. Shanny’s soft voice serenades the listener as the drum beat that carries the song intertwines with the guitar and bass. “Not A Blue Moon” belongs on any indie playlist and glides through listeners’ ears like a midnight breeze.
