Casey’s DJ pick of the week this week is “Station Vacation” by Nordista Freeze!
Nordista Freeze is a Nashville local, known for his remarkable stage presence and dedication to his fan’s live music experience. In 2021, Freeze was the winner of our very own Music City Mayhem, and went on to open for the indie rock band, Flipturn, the next year for their 2022 Shadowglow tour. With 827 live performances and counting, noted on his social media accounts, it is clear that for Freeze, performing and being on the stage is a passion that will continue to flourish for him. Additionally, Freeze is also the creator of Space Prom, a concert series that started here in Nashville that will be returning at Brooklyn Bowl on February 1st.
His most recent release, “Station Vacation” is a groovy track with elements of surf rock that take you right back to the 60’s. It is the first single off of his new album releasing in February, “On the Banks of Disappearing.” The message of the song is to be more in the moment and worry less about the bigger picture. “The Road is long / It goes nowhere / I’m right here / Why would I care?” Freeze calls attention to the desire to control and understand our future and how doing so takes us away from what we can experience in the present.
