Sturgill Simpson is a modernist with a classic country soul. His newest addition to his psychedelic mountain sound, A Sailor’s Guide to Earth, evokes an eerie desire to wander while making the listener feel right at home. Released on April 15, “In Bloom” is this Kentucky country artist’s take on an alt-rock anthem. Simpson is returning to Nashville for two nights at the Ryman on Oct. 28 and 29.
