Jayson’s Pick: Taylor Noelle “Facade”
Starting off our list strong, Jayson’s DJ Pick of the week is “Facade” by local Nashville indie pop artist Taylor Noelle. Taylor Noelle blends hazy disco sounds with brooding dream pop production and sentimental songwriting. This recent release, “Facade”, follows suit featuring funky, danceable bass lines, meticulous vocal stacks, soulful piano, and memorably evocative lines like “watching the rain roll off your car.” Stay on the lookout for Taylor Noelle at your favorite local venues as she just played a show at The Basement yesterday night.

Dan’s Pick: Kenny Sharp “My Own Good”
Dan’s DJ Pick of the week is “My Own Good” by local artist Kenny Sharp. Kenny Sharp is a musician who blends soul, country, and blues influences to create his own unique sound. Nashville musician and Music City Mayhem alum Kenny Sharp, pairs powerful vocals, vintage sounding production and classic Nashville songwriting in this track, “My Own Good.” This song tells the story of a man who willfully leaves behind the rowdy ways of his past in favor of a stable and secure love. This sentiment is repeated in the hook where Sharp asks his partner to “Love me for my own good.” Twangy pedal steel and smooth background vocals embellish this track nicely.

Stephanie’s Pick: Ye Vagabonds “The Flood”
Our next DJ Pick from Stephanie is Ye Vagabond’s “The Flood.” Ye Vagabonds is a folk group founded by brothers, Diarmuid and Brían Mac Gloinn and featuring contributions by Lankum, Lisa O’Neill, John Francis Flynn and Landless. Ye Vagabonds occupy a niche genre landscape. Their sound is inspired by traditional Irish music, specifically the singing traditions of the region of Ulster, but also by American traditional music and 1960s folk music. “The Flood” is the second single from this group’s upcoming album “All Tied Together” set to release January 30th. This single features close-knit harmonies and poetic lyricism alongside traditional folk instrumentation. Lyrically, the song tells the story of a person reflecting on time gone by and contemplating the past they shared with someone they have since drifted apart from.

Casey’s Pick: Scotty “Bailey’s Moon”
Casey’s DJ pick of the week is local “Bailey’s Moon” by local Nashville artist Scotty. Singer/Songwriter Scotty’s music features confessional lyrics and charming melodies. Her music ranges from upbeat dream pop to sulky piano ballads. On “Bailey’s Moon” Scotty employs the latter. With an intimate guitar and vocal performance, introspective lyrics, and expressive string orchestrations this song has definite ‘cry on your walk home’ potential.

Rev’s Pick: JOSEPH “Ready To Let You Down”
Our final DJ Pick comes from Rev. This week Rev chose JOSEPH’s “Ready to Let You Down.” JOSEPH is an indie pop trio from Oregon, made up of three sisters (our second sibling group of the week!). JOSEPH’s music features folksy harmonies and joyful songwriting. In their music they explore themes of personal growth and healing. This track “Ready To Let You Down” packs a punch with saturated vocals, spacey production and angsty guitar tones. This 2025 single is just one song off of JOSEPH’s new album “Closer To Happy”, which drops in thirteen days.
