Road To Roo, Lightning 100’s annual battle-of-the-bands tournament, provides local artists and bands an opportunity to play the 2018 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival June 7-10 in Manchester, Tenn.

The second preliminary showcase will take place on Tuesday March 6 featuring Andrew Leahey and the Homestead, J. Marco, Jiliam Linklater, Jonny and the Jumpmen, The New Schematics, and Stelle Amor. Learn more about each band below and join us at the Basement East to vote your favorite into the state finals!

Self proclaimed “American Rock n Roll band” Andrew Leahey and the Homestead are proud to be a part of the loud lively American Rock n Roll tradition. The band draws influence from Buddy Holly, Tom Petty, and Bruce Springsteen among others. Check out their song The Good Life performed live HERE!

Massachusetts native turned Nashville local, J. Marco, presents a blend of punk rock and captivating pop that is sure to get you moving. J. Marco draws influence from Tom Petty, The Strokes, The Ramones, and seminal book The Hero with a Thousand Faces by mythologist Joseph Campbell. Jilian Linklater is a Belmont student with a dream. The songwriting major moved to Nashville from Lake Orion, Michigan to pursue music, and her first EP was recorded in various places around the Belmont campus.  She draws influence from John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and Ingrid Michaelson among others. Self-proclaimed Garage Country band, Jonny and the Jumpmen, combine throwback country and garage rock into to create the ultimate southern sound. From fuzz guitars to fiddle the band brings a high energy performance everywhere they go. Check out their 2017 EP “Salt Box” on Spotify and its title track HERE!

Local indie-rock-pop duo The New Schematics have been described as a live act with “the crowd control of street preachers.” Their new single “Who Do You Think You Are?” has been called their best yet. Check it out HERE!

Encouraging “lots of light and so much love” singer-songwriter Stelle Amor invites us all to “get lost in her blue dream haze.” Stelle is also part of trio Sidetripp along with Kris Bradley and Justin Merrill.
