Friday was NOT the day to miss! Our Friday Night Live On The Green lineup was packed full of incredible artists! St. Paul and the Broken Bones, The Brummies, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Guster, Erin Rae and more rocked the stage. Check out the interviews our DJs caught with some of these artists below.
Robert Randolph and the Family Band were around during the very first years of Live on the Green! Robert Randolph and DJ Casey bond over a mutual fondest for the late and great Ray Charles, and how growing up in the church influences the band’s “rock and roll church vibe.” Check out their new album Brighter Days!
If you still haven’t heard Guster’s song Overexcited, what are you waiting for?! Guster talks about how Overexcited started only as a song that made them laugh but ended up sticking, and their decision to sing in British accents. Oh, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for their dumpster sets!
Raised in Tennessee, Erin Rae’s latest album “Putting on Airs” reflects the prejudices and injustices she witnessed as a child. She talks to DJs Jayson and Adam about what she would do on a free day in Nashville, “The 8th Ave Loop, hang out with her dog, and drink lots of coffee” and her method to writing, “I like to have a space where no one can hear me…with coffee.”
