Rev’s DJ Pick of the Week is Coldplay’s “feelslikeimfallinginlove”.
Legendary British band Coldplay is back with a new single for the summer.
One of the most awarded bands in history, they have two of the highest 15-grossing tours and three of the best-selling 50 albums of all time. They also have seven Grammys with 39 nominations and seven Grammys with 30 nominations.
“feelslikeimfallinginlove” is ushering in a new wave of music for Coldplay. This is part of an unreleased album, Moon Music, debuts October 4th. This is also the second half of their Music of the Spheres project, which began with From Earth with Love.
Heavily inspired by Star Wars The project aims to create a whole Coldplay “solar system”. Each track correlates to a different object or planet in the system created on the album cover of Music of the Spheres.
This song was written and produced by the band themselves, with a little help from renowned producer Max Martin. Sonically, it explores space rock, ambient music, and pop. The lyrics delve into accepting love, despite the apprehension to it.
The lyrics state, “I know that I was born to kill / Any angel on my windowsill / But it’s so dark inside / I throw the window wide”, showing the turmoil and struggle before the resolution of love.
