“Deeper Well” is the first single and the title track off Musgraves’ newest album, set to release on March 15.
The acclaimed country artist and singer/songwriter recently announced the release of her fifth studio album Deeper Well. A new era from Musgraves has been highly anticipated by fans since the release of her 2021 LP star-crossed.
Musgraves co-produced and recorded Deeper Well with Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk at the iconic Electric Lady Studios. The title track, released on Feb. 8, is a stunning introduction to the album’s fresh direction.
Musgraves radiates an undeniable peace through the track, and earthy, calming visuals mirror her internal serenity.
“Deeper Well” is gentle and grounding. Musgraves reflects on the lessons her life has taught her over a delicate picking pattern. Musgrave’s vocals are pure and self-assured as she sings about stepping away from what drains her and finding “a deeper well.” Ambient synths glisten throughout the track, and subtle harmonies create an ethereal quality.
Lyrically, “Deeper Well” is an anthem about stepping into peace and removing yourself from toxic situations. This is shown as Musgraves sings “So I’m saying goodbye to the people / That I feel are real good at wasting my time.”
“Deeper Well” is like a meditation for the soul, and we can’t wait to hear what else Musgraves has in store for us.
