This week, Rev Keith’s DJ Pick is “Sweet Symphony” featuring Chris Stapleton by Joy Oladokun. Originally from Arizona, Oladokun fell in love with music after seeing Tracy Chapman perform on TV during Nelson Mandela’s 70th birthday tribute at Wembley Arena.
“I was programmed to believe people around me listened if somebody had a guitar. As a shy kid and one of the only black children in town, I had a lot of social anxiety. Seeing Tracy Chapman up there with a guitar in front of a full stadium was such an empowering moment,” Oladokun shared on her website.
“Sweet Symphony” featuring Chris Stapleton is a heartfelt song about love. Oladokun and Stapleton’s voices blend together to create a beautifully perfect track. Accompanied by sweet strings and soulful guitar, “Sweet Symphony” is a song that will have you thinking of your special someone.
