Ana Lee here with my DJ pick today. It’s another great song from the latest Lucius album, Good Grief. This one’s called “Almost Makes Me Wish For Rain.” #L100DJPicks
The symmetrical front-women of Lucius are Berkley College of Music grads Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. With musical support from their sharp-dressing band (Dan Molad on drums, and guitarists Peter Lalish and Andrew Burri), Lucius has created an indie sound that melds synthpop with alternative rock. Their second, full-length effort Good Grief is a satisfying follow-up to their critically acclaimed (see this review from NPR), premier LP, Wildewoman. Listen here to “Almost Makes Me Wish For Rain,” a poppy tune made full by Lucius’s unpredictable use of sound. Comment below and let us know what you think.
