Happy Friday and welcome back for day five of Holiday Hops! DJ Jayson and Rhizome Productions’ Matt Leff wrap up week one with Lazy Magnolia’s seasonal brew, Coffee Shoppe. This brew comes from the first legal brewery in Mississippi that’s given us an exceptional holiday beer.
Coffee Shoppe is just that, a beer with coffee! It’s the perfect morning brew for waking up early to smoke some meat for Christmas dinner and preparing for holiday gatherings. This beer comes in at 6% ABV, so it’s not super high in alcohol. It’s a dark, toasty coffee stout that makes for easy drinking because of the low alcohol content.
The first sip of this stout gives you a perfect mix of coffee and chocolate, two flavors that complement each other nicely. Most people assume that stouts are big and heavy, but this is the perfect example of one that’s not. It’s light, and none of the flavors are overpowering and they all come out nicely.
Lazy Magnolia’s Coffee Shoppe is seasonal, so make sure you get your hands on it now before it’s too late. It’s possible you might find this in the supermarkets, but you’re sure to find it at you finer beer retailer, available in a 6 pack of 12 oz cans.
