Originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, singer/songwriter Maria Crawford (the voice behind Wilby) has been performing and creating music in Nashville since 2014. Prior to releasing music under the name Wilby, Crawford used to be known as the folk artist Mar.
In 2020 Crawford released her very first single as Wilby titled “Bad”. With inspirations such as Carole King, Patty Griffin, and Van Morrison, Crawford uses her soft but powerful voice to explore concepts of mental health and resilience. Wilby is planning on releasing her debut EP Translucent Beauty this summer and we couldn’t be more excited!
