Keith’s DJ Pick this week is “BEESWAX” by Easy Life. This is the Leicester-based band’s first released single following their 2021 album, life’s a beach. The new release features experimental, hip-hop beats that contrast the bands previously-known lighter sound. In the song, lead songwriter and vocalist on this track, Murray Matravers, heavily emphasizes the shifting culture of a post-pandemic world. The chorus lyrics, “you should mind your beeswax” hint at the oversharing nature of the now technologically-dependent world.
The five-member band is releasing a new song featuring Kevin Abstract called “Dear Miss Holloway” tomorrow! Along with the new music, the band is currently on tour throughout 3 European and Asian countries.
