On Sunday, July 7th, we got to treat ourselves to the summer cityscape of downtown Nashville as our River Queen Voyages kayaks rolled into the shores along the Cumberland River. Voted Nashville’s “Best View of the City“, this kayak journey offers stunning city views as you paddle along the riverwalk. Although the kayaking journey was over, our adventure was far from it. Upon our arrival, Pepper greeted us with a cold drink.
It was nearly 4:30 pm when the crowd gathered around the crisp cooler for their hard-earned Devil’s Backbone Hibiscus Hard Lemonade. It was the perfect drink to cool off with, and the taste was the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing. The word around the water cooler was enthusiastic and lighthearted. The gang mostly talked about their river experience and what is still to come.
The sun was bearing our shoulders a golden tone, but no one seemed to mind. Just before the first beads of condensation began to fall off the cans and into the branded koozies, the gang was shuttled back to their cars at Pearl Diver in East Nashville.
At Pearl Diver, Team Lightning met with a bevy of specialty beverages, a magnificent mermaid, and a colorful atmosphere to match their attitudes. Here, everyone was content to sip on their drinks and socialize among river royalty. See our gallery below to check out this unique experience.
