Dan’s DJ Pick of the week!

Today’s DJ pick comes from California based quartet, Marty O’Reilly & the Old Soul Orchestra. This four-person music machine is composed of Marty O’Reilly on guitar and vocals, Chris Lynch on the Fiddle, Ben Berry on upright bass, and Matt Goff on the drums. Hailing from Santa Cruz, the band has made huge waves in the soul, blues, and funk genres with their 2018 sophomore full-length album, Stereoscope. This record takes you on a journey through genre, mixing elements of blues, Americana, soul, and even pop at times, Stereoscope is beautiful from start to finish. Full of beautiful and unconventional lyrics, this album marks a new chapter for Marty O’Reilly & the Old Soul Orchestra.

On November 19th, the funk pack is back with a brand new single, “Shark Tank”. This single features Royal Jelly Jive and is apart of the “Soul Jelly” project, which takes all ten members of both bands to create two brand new singles. “Shark Tank” mixes New Orleans style jazz and cabaret blues to create a beautiful single, but the real stand out is the mesh of Marty O’Reilly and Lauren Bjelde’s vocals. This smooth tune is a modern blast from the past and will get you up and ready to dance the night away (socially distanced of course). Be sure to keep an eye out for the second single of the Soul Jelly Project. We are so excited to see what’s next!
