Bryan Simpson is a local singer- songwriter originally from Fort Worth, Texas. As a founding member of bands Cadillac Sky and The Whistles and The Bells, Simpson has garnered experience in multiple sectors of music. As a songwriter, he has written for artists from Hailey Whitters, to Blake Shelton, to his own solo career. But he came into his own with the release of his first solo record in 2024- The Oldest. He continues upon his reputation singer- songwriter music that plays in its own court with the release of “Punk Rock Show” this year.
Simpson starts off the song of the week with a bold punk inspired riff. “Punk Rock Show” then follows the templates of both singer songwriter and punk songs as it spins a story. “Mom can you come pick me up from the punk rock show?” asks the verse. It is an homage to the punk music that inspires Simpson, but in his own style. Bryan Simpson is described as an eclectic singer- songwriter, which becomes apparent throughout his vast discography. Listeners can be appreciative of his authentic approach to songwriting. Simpson does not seem to be too concerned with boxing himself into a genre.
