On this week’s episode of Community Corner, Brother Love is joined by Colleen Weiss and Michele Flynn. The two women host The Angelic Dissenters podcast.
The goal of The Angelic Dissenters podcast is to bring awareness to local Nashville legislation and inform listeners on how they can get involved. Colleen shares how she was inspired to start showing up to the state house after the tragic Covenant shooting. She wanted to see how these issues were being addressed. She realized how little she knew about legislation and how state bills were passed until she found a supportive community of locals that helped to inform her. Both Colleen and Michele hope to bring that information to the people of Nashville.
The women explain that showing up to local government meetings, or to meet with law makers can go a long way. There is power in both showing up individually and as a group. Being present at these events can teach everyday people about how laws are made and passed. In this episode, Colleen and Michele both share their experiences with local law enforcement.
