We spent some time with NAMI Davidson County in the studio for this week’s Community Corner. Nation Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is a peer to peer mental health advocacy organization with over 600 chapters nationwide. NAMI Davidson, the organization’s capitol affiliate, is is not just serving Davidson county, but proudly serving the Middle Tennessee area. Robin Nobling, NAMI Davidson’s Executive Director, sat down with us to talk about the importance of Mental Health awareness. Nobling mentioned that everyone has their own stuff, and NAMI Davidson want to help people figure out their stuff!

The organization has provided support groups, intentional programming, and public advocacy for over 10,000 Middle Tennessee Residents in the last year. With the intent to break the stigmas behind Mental Health awareness, NAMI Davidson is working hard in our community. NAMI Davidson is hosting their “Labyrinth GloWalk” event on Saturday, October 1st. The event’s slogan is “Walk in with Your Troubles, Walk Out with Hope.” The event is being held at the Scarritt Bennett Center, and is free to attend!
