This week, Keith has chosen “Haven’t Been Doing So Well” by Frank Turner as his DJ Pick! “Haven’t Been Doing So Well” is the third track from Turner’s latest album, FTHC. The album, released on February 11th, is Turner’s first release since 2019. He boasts a highly decorated music career, including four Top 5 albums. During the pandemic, Turner did anything but turn his back on the clearly struggling music industry. In fact, he played countless livestream benefit shows to raise money and awareness of small venues across the country. For his constant efforts, he was awarded the Music Venue Trust’s award for Outstanding Achievement for Grassroots Music Venues.

FTHC marks a new chapter in Turner’s career. Recorded at Abbey Recording Studios and produced/mixed by Rich Costey, this album is anything but simple. The sound darts between punk, folk, hard rock and singer-songwriter confessionals. In celebration of the album, Turner embarks on a world tour, with a stop in Nashville at Brooklyn Bowl on July 5th. “Haven’t Been Doing So Well” is a track that just about anyone can relate to after experiencing the past few years.
