This week, Keith has chosen “Change” by The War On Drugs as his DJ Pick! “Change” is one of the singles from the band’s most recent studio album, I Don’t Live Here Anymore. Released in October of last year, I Don’t Live Here Anymore is the fifth album from The War On Drugs. After winning the 2018 Grammy for Best Rock Album, the band retreated to upstate New York to write more songs. From there, the album began to come together.

The War On Drugs has been creating incredible rock music for fifteen years, constantly serving as a middle ground for rock music in all its forms. I Don’t Live Here Anymore is an album about “one of our most common but daunting processes – resilience in the face of despair”. This is displayed in the lyrics to “Change”. For example, just one excerpt from the song’s lyrics reads, “Shelter in the doorway from rising storms”.

I Don’t Live Here Anymore is available now to grace the ears of all who come across it. In celebration of the album, The War On Drugs will be embarking on a North American tour beginning in May. They’ll be stopping in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium on May 25th. Other Tennessee stops include Memphis’s Soundstage at Graceland on September 24th, and Knoxville’s Mill & Mine on September 27th. In anticipation for the show, you can listen to “Change” here:
