Lani Ford here. It’s Friday and my turn for the #L100DJPicks of the week on Lightning100. I have the new tune from LP: “Strange.”
Famed, L.A.-based, indie singer/songwriter LP (Laura Pergolizzi) returns with an EP, Death Valley, that sustains her anthemic lyricism and unconventional instrumentals. Many recall her viral hit “Into the Wild” (released in 2012 and made popular by the infamous rock climbing Citibank commercial), “Strange” and the fresh EP Death Valley, is a satisfying follow-up.
Returning to Nashville Aug. 2 to play the Ryman with Bryan Ferry, LP has received recognition from multiple media outlets, such as NPR Music and MTV News, for her technical and idiosyncratic sound. Listen to her song “Strange,” comment below and let us know what you think.
