Lightning 100 announces BadCulture as our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week! Featured as the second single on the band’s 2023 self-titled EP, “Thinking” is the perfect track for when you want to feel a little edgy and introspective.
The band got their start playing in garages and houses, emerging from a small town just outside of Nashville. On top of rocking dorm rooms, they have started to make their way around well-loved Nashville venues like The East Room and The End.
“Thinking” is everything you want in a gritty, upbeat indie rock listen. The monotone vocals throughout the verses set a contemplative mood that is directly contrasted by the more youthful, lively vocals in the chorus. The two different tones offer a very different take to the hook “I’ve been thinking a lot,” with the variety furthering the emotional range throughout the track. The rock-heavy drums and electric guitar amplify the angsty, rebellious lyrical themes and vocal delivery, making for a punchy track to keep on repeat.
