Lightning 100’s pick for Local Artist of the Week is the Marble Jets, with their song “Feelin’ Alive!”
The rock band consists of lead vocalist and bassist Reno Bo, guitarists Frankie Ballard and Tyler Bryant, and drummer Caleb Crosby. Each member already had established musical success. Reno released a few solo albums, toured with the likes of Albert Hammond Jr. and The Mooney Suzuki, and has performed with artists like Norah Jones and Ann Wilson. Frankie charted eight songs on the Billboard Hot Country Charts, including three number ones, and has opened for acts such as Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney. Tyler and Caleb were in the group Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, who have opened for acts such as AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Jeff Beck.
Marble Jets formed in July of 2023. Subsequently, they released their four song, self-titled EP, Marple Jets. The four-song EP is largely alternative and indie rock, with some compelling experimentation as well. Since the release, they’ve grown a following around Nashville, playing local venues including The East Room and The Basement.
The single “Feelin’ Alive'” has verses go into a high energy, catchy chorus, with a unique sounding guitar solo. The song is a great for tapping your fingers on the steering wheel when driving. You can catch the band at Lightning 100’s Free Fest on September 5th, at 1 pm in Centennial Park. Admission to this is free.
