Jayson’s DJ pick of the week this week is “Blue Left Hand” by Oracle Sisters!
The Oracle Sisters are a trio of childhood friends based in Paris, France. The trio has a diverse following all over the world with fanbases in Paris, Amsterdam, and London for their hypnotic sound. Oracle Sisters has released two critically acclaimed projects, Paris I and Paris II and their debut album, Hydranism in 2023. Their sound is a diverse mix of folk traditions from Edinburgh and Dublin. They put their own mix on these traditions by adding psychedelic, soul, and rock inspiration. The band is releasing their second album, Divinations, on Valentine’s day next month. The album features their most recent single “Blue Left Hand”!
The new single shows off the trio’s combined talents with a funky bass line, airy melody, and euphonic vocals. The track features lyrics that have mystical undertones like “Somebody thought it was here / All of the answers are clear / Pulling a cat from the hat / Again and again”. The song is the perfect mix of magical and electric that just makes you want to dance till midnight. Additionally, the music video keeps up with the eccentrics of the band featuring jesters, flashing lights, nuns, and lots of dancing!
