Barns Courtney – “Supernatural”: Keith’s DJ Pick of the Week

This week Rev. Keith’s DJ Pick is “Supernatural” by Barns Courtney!

Courtney is an English based artist who is best known for his 2017 track “Fire”. He has opened for acts like: The Lumineers, Blur, Fitz and the Tantrums, Tom Odell, and more. Courtney’s style encompasses elements of edgy rock, indie flair, and gospel backing vocals. Courtney’s style has taken some diversions over the last five years, but he has stay true to his rock roots.

“Supernatural” is definitely a more indie rock take on Courtney’s style. The track is the artist’s first release in the last 2 years. The song explores the enticement of a relationship with someone you are infatuated with, but doesn’t want to give you the time of day. Courtney describes his love:

“You flip me like a domino
Got ya hands all over my body
But you’re actin’ like you don’t want me
Yeah, if you want me, let me know
You’re terrifin’ beautiful”

The lyric “yeah if you want me, let me know” is ever-present in the track to show Courtney’s intention.
