Jay: “Pink Lemon” Elder Island

Jayson’s DJ Pick this week is “Pink Lemon” by the band Elder Island. Elder Island is a musical trio hailing from Bristol, England. Made up of musicians Katy Sargent, Luke Thornton, and David Harvard, Elder Island makes funky synth pop music, often featuring bowed instruments like cello and violin. Elder Island has an upbeat sound and features smooth production. Named after the wintery Canadian Island, this musical group’s northern aesthetic is contrasted by their warm psychedelic sound. The song “Pink Lemon” deepens this contrast, with lyrics about the plain monotony of life, rubbing up against Elder Island’s dancey, trip hop-influenced, music. Dan: “Responsible Friend” Elizabeth and the Catapult

Dan’s DJ Pick this week is “Responsible Friend” by Elizabeth and the Catapult. This charming tune follows Elizabeth as she refuses the romantic advances of an old friend because she knows they would regret confusing their friendship. She asks them, “won’t you be the responsible friend” and presumably stop pursuing a romantic relationship with her. “Responsible Friend” features endearing production and the classic vintage-sounding guitars of 2010s indie rock. With a catchy hook and a relatable concept, “Responsible Friend” is the perfect song to add to your rotation. So, give “Responsible Friend” by Elizabeth and the Catapult a listen at the link below!

Steph: “American Dream” Alabama Shakes

Stephanie’s DJ Pick this week is brand new release from Alabama Shakes, “American Dream.” As the name suggests, this track comments on the state of nation and, in true blues fashion, laments the so-called “American Dream. ” Luckily, in 2026 Brittany Howard’s powerful vocals are back to inspire us and make us feel in the age of apathy. With lyrics like, “Got the white house pretty and pimped out” Alabama Shakes makes their stance clear. Give “American Dream” a listen at the link below. And, don’t forget to catch Alabama Shakes when they play Bonnaroo this summer!

Casey: “The Throes” Jacob Fleming

This week, Casey chose Jacob Fleming’s “The Throes” as his DJ Pick of the Week. This delightful song is both short and sweet at just over two minutes. The scaled back quality of the track supports Fleming’s skillful writing and simplistic production. The song features acoustic guitar, vocals, and piano. During the hook Jacob Fleming repeats the reassuring sentiment, “I won’t run away from you” and during the verses he talks about picking flowers and watching petals fall. This pleasant tune is the perfect addition to your spring playlist. So, give “The Throes” by Jacob Fleming a listen at the link below!

Rev: “Stronger Together” Tori Amos

Rev’s DJ Pick of the week is Tori Amos’ “Stronger Together.” Known for her female centric writing style, this song sits squarely in Amos’ wheelhouse. The message of the song hits even harder when you realize Tori Amos is singing with her own daughter, Natasha Hawley. They sing about the burdens of womanhood and about how sharing their struggles makes them “stronger together.” This track is a true family affair, not only featuring mother and daughter on the vocals but also crediting husband and father Mark Hawley as recording engineer. This sentimental track is the perfect song to play for your mother this coming Mother day. So, give “Stronger Together” by Tori Amos a listen at the link below!
