Lilly Winwood – “Sleep Issues”: Local Artist of the Week

The next Lightning 100 Local Artist of the Week for the month of May is Nashville-native Lilly Winwood! At 26, Winwood has already made a name for herself in Music City, opening a show for her father at the Ryman Auditorium. As the daughter of Traffic founder Steve Winwood, she’s successfully combining rock with Americana. She’s creating a sound that’s all too rare and entirely her own.

Her latest single “Sleep Issues” pairs, appropriately, with a cup of coffee early in the morning. It’s the kind of song that, if you heard it playing down on Broadway, you’d have to stop and listen.

And luckily, “Sleep Issues” will be playing there sooner than you think. Come see Winwood perform during Friday Afternoon Live at 5 p.m. this Friday at the Skydeck on Broadway and welcome the long weekend with Lightning 100.

Winwood released her first album, “Time Well Spent,” in 2021. Her 2020 single “California” mixes country with the serenity you expect from a song about the Golden State. It’s the kind of ballad that just begs to be driven to.

Winwood’s voice will make you reminisce about the classic artists your parents listened to growing up.

But above all, it’s music that will make you fall in love with Nashville all over again.

“Sleep Issues” is the latest single in a long line of successes, but it also sounds like the beginning of something new for Winwood. You can check out the track here:

So grab your coffee, tune in to 100.1 FM or lightning100.com and listen to “Sleep Issues” all week long with us as Lilly Winwood takes her turn as our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week, and don’t forget to come down to the Skydeck at Assembly Food Hall this Friday at 5 p.m!
