This week’s Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week is alt-rock band The Mango Furs! We will be playing their latest release, “Got Me Floating.”
Native to Nashville, members include Chris Higdon, Spencer Moore, Will Newman, and Dylan Miller. A genre-defying band, The Mango Furs have indie, jazz, psychedelic rock, and pop influences to their music. Emerging into the scene in 2019, with their LP Inner Migrations, The Mango Furs have mastered a retro inspired sound. With synths, sax, percussion, guitar, bass, and vocals this band has got it all.
“Got Me Floating” is the ultimate groove. Making its debut on March 31, 2023, you’ll have a hard time staying in your seat after hitting play. The instrumentals are reminiscent of the bridge in Michael Jackson’s 1979 hit “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.” Utilizing horns and some unconventional percussion towards the end, “Got Me Floating” will have you busting out your best Saturday Night Fever disco finger.
Tune in to 100.1 FM and lightning100.com all week to hear “Got Me Floating” by The Mango Furs, our Frothy Monkey Local Artist of the Week.
